Fleur de lotus & Fleur de lys

Fleur de lotus & fleur de lys is an original work for junior concert band – Flex 4 with percussion, structured in two contrasting movements.

The first movement draws inspiration from Asia, using evocative musical colors and an atmosphere of discovery and elsewhere. The second movement turns towards a more European musical world, creating a clear contrast in character and musical language.

Through the symbolism of the lotus, associated with Asia, and the fleur-de-lis, deeply rooted in European imagery, the work brings two contrasting cultural worlds into musical dialogue.

Designed for junior concert bands, this Flex 4 with percussion piece offers young musicians opportunities to develop listening skills, explore contrasting characters and instrumental colors, and strengthen ensemble cohesion while discovering original and expressive music.
